upgrade OME 1.0.1 to 1.3
So i have OME 1.0.1 installed and i want to upgrade to 1.3. I have Sql server 2008 R2 installed on the server that i have OME installed on and have the OME DB installed on that machine. Whe i go to install OME 1.3 it sees my previous version and then wants to install Sql server express 2012. . Now od i really have to have that installed if i have sql server 2008 r2 installed? According to the install guide 2008 R2 is supported.

Hi and thanks for the question.
You can upgrade to OME 1.3 from OME 1.1 and later. There are some notes on upgrade in the online help and user guide.

Hope that helps.

Well first off I would back up your existing database before you do anything else.
Then you could upgrade from 1.0.1 to 1.2. Run discovery, inventory, click around :)
Backup db again.
Then you can upgrade from 1.2 to 1.3.
We install SQL 2012 express if folks are on an older version of SQL 2005. I don't think the installer will disturb your 2008 database since it is the full version of the db.
Some of these details should be in the doc as well.
Hope this helps,
Rob
