730 - Customer support

Anyone had anyluck dealing with customer support?  They are so "by the book" and were of no useful help to me whats so ever.  (quick list of problems)

 

730 Q9550 9800 GX2 (month 1/2)

 

Sound crackles XF-I

Fan speed / Light FX 

Very poor gaming performance.  Usually locks up or crashes after 10 of gaming. Fan speeds do not seem to vary.

(All drivers and firmware are up to date)

 

After spending a good 2 hours dealing with "customer support"  they told me they could not help me or send a technician over here because I have switched to XP (in hopes to solve issues) they would not further assist me until I reinstalled Vista. :(

thats correct , u have to have the original OS or no support otherwise. do u have the latest Creative driver 2.18.0004 and console launcher {Aug 27/08} and  nvidia driver with physx support. as for crackle , hiss,  pops , screech , there is no fix, these sound problems go back to the XPS 400 we are now at the XPS 730.. No solution in site . PM Chris_M with your service tag # , address , phone # , OUT OF THE  BOX audio problem if it will do any good i doubt it.

I would think you have some issue with your whole system than what os your running. Put vista back on then tell Dell to fix your system. You should not issues with games under XP! The day i got mine(tho a 720) I put xp pro on and not issue at all!
