AMD Athlon 64X2 4000+ 2.1 dual-core processor (AD04000IAA5DD)

my AMD Athlon 64X2 4000+ 2.1GHZ dual-core processor (AD04000IAA5DD) has been broken. i could not able to get same one.

my question is, can i use any other AMD athlon 64X2 dual-core processor..like 4800+ or 5000+ and 2.5 or 3.0 GHZ?..thanks in advance

What kind of system do you have? You could do that as long as your computer specifcations support the upgraded CPU.  ie. PSU/MB etc

Could you elaborate on how you determined that your cpu is "broken"? Cpu's are usually the least prone to failure in any system. Have you ruled out MB, ram etc and how please.

CPU came out when i removed the heat sink . when i try to fix it back,,some pins were bent.

Yeah I hate when that happens. Have you tried to straighten them out as yet. I've saved several by gently sliding a credit card along each axis (very gently).  I've had the older socket 939 come out with the hs several times and I've always mangaed to get them to work. Trick is be gentle, maybe use a light with a magnifying glass and take your time. They will not come out perfect but if your gentle when easing them back into the socket you should be ok. As for replacement chips anything up to AMD 6000 should be ok. The key factor in the replacement is the power rating of your mb. Some of the older chips are 125 watt cpu's and the later ones are 95 watts. Good Luck.
