An option is to buy a new Socket 775 motherboard and move it and your 530 parts into the 2400.
The 530 has the IO shield stamped into the back of the chassis, but the 2400 has a removable one.
Ya im thinking more flashy if ya get me something along the lines of this

Im so sorry about the profanity... I cant remember what I wrote!?!? Sorry wont happen again.
I really do hope I can get help here do, I want to buy a CPU as soon as possible.
Thanks all.
would this be a fit for the 2400?
It might work, but $32 seems expensive for such an old CPU; I got an E6300 Core 2 Duo for about that much.
Note that mATX motherboards will fit the 2400 chassis, so you're not limited to working with the stock board.
cheers mate, What would u recommend for my dell? I want to get the best CPU as I can for it.
mATX motherboards are they worth it? Price wise like. I have a dell inspiron 530 that I think has a mobo problem so I am going too have to replace the mobo in that, I am using the 2400 until I get the 530 fixed up, its the quad core version. I have another thread about my 530.
sorry for the multiple posts I just am getting new things in my head I need some help with heh...
If I was to buy one of them mobos for the 2400 would it fit in the normal dell dimension 2400 tower? It has
different ports like HDMI and such.

Could I buy a new tower and use parts from the 530 with a new mobo. Id like a fast PC video encoding and stuff a lot. Like a new tower and mobo. New CPU Like a new haswell... would that work out?
You need a new motherboard to use a Haswell, but it would fit in the 2400.
