I want to install Alien FX, which I already have along w/ XPS thermal monitor.

Do I have to unintsall the nVidia ESA for Alien FX to work w/ out problems? Same for the Thermal monitor.

Thanks

Hello touchmaster,

You will need to uninstall the nVidia ESA BEFORE installing the Alien FX or the Thermal Monitor.  You can find the latest copies of those programs on Chris M's latest update to the XPS FAQ dated 2/13/09 on the main page of General Hardware, or here:

http://en.community.dell.com/forums/t/19240761.aspx

In my faulty memory, I remember Chris in some post over the last month stating that the nVidia program should be removed prior to installing the Dell Alien FX to prevent conflicts that might cause system lockup.   The updated installs are listed by model number (XPS ***) so click on the number that matches your system and the specific instructions are located there.

Best,

Darrell WV
