Ati Radeon HD 5670 1 GB GDDR5 drivers
I have an XPS 8300 with windows 7 64 bit and I am installin a new hard drive and when I installed the files for the ati catalist drivers it installed fine until I changed the size of my screen and rebooted. It then said loading windows and just showed a blank screen. I rebooted again and left windows restore to an earlier time before the drivers. I have the HD 5670 1 GB GDDR5 video card and got the download from mydell site. I also have the same file on a restore cd I received from dell.
Any suggestions.

Catalyst Drivers crash on install until the Dotnet 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 4.5 are installed with all the updates. 64 Bit windows drivers will not install unless they are WHQL certified Drivers. Blank White Screen is an issue with 64 bit windows and install. Remove all but 2 Gigs of ram and try again. Then install the ram back after service packs and windows updates.

Thank you for the reply. I am a bit lost when you post about Dotnet. I am not that advanced on technology.
I was wondering however, how many of the windows updates I should do. I forgot to change how windows updates and when I got my internet up and running it did 100 of them before I noticed.
So my question now is HOW MANY of these windows updates should I do. I mean there are tons of them being I have a system with the windows 7 on it and there have been many since then.
My video drivers are now working, how it happened I don't know. I did a restore and then a reinstall and they are working.
Can you advise me on updating windows? I have built all my previous computers and only decided to buy a dell because of the price but that leaves me with wading through the stuff they built it with.

You do the updates until there are no more.
It may require several restarts. Your drivers likely started working after the dotnet 3.5 and 4.x drivers downloaded and installed.
