BIOS E521 is back up.

You can d/l it now. When I installed it, it took quite awhile to install. Just wait and let it do its job. It almost seemed like it was going to fail. Make sure you follow all the directions and you will not have any problems. I think.

Are you referring to the 1.1.8 version.

I'm wary to update after my attempt to update to 1.1.4 killed my Mobo and I had to get it replaced under warranty.

my rule is, if it aint broke,, why fix it?  if  i do not encounter any problems on my system, i would opt not to update my bios especially if its a desktop system.... but if you have a laptop... its pretty much safe to do so

The Dell Support application was the one that original suggested upgrading the BIOS so I figured it was necessary / ok to do so.

yeah, i second to that, dell should do somethin about the dell support pop-up, instead of helping the system it might actually cause major problems
