BIOS update software crashes.

i run the update program through freedos, and the update program runs, it gives me the bin file name and asks me to confirm, then it locks up, nothing changes in the BIOS, thank goodness.

i've done this many times, one time the screen filled with random letters, program writing to video ram i think.

i've been through all the postings that might be this, have tried, resetting the bios options, removing graphics card, and many other ideas, double checking everything.

any ideas?

i've done this exact thing on an identical system, which worked first time, which is why i know the update will cure a problem for me.

this is on a 530S, trying to go from 1.0.13 to 1.0.15

(1.0.18, the latest, is much complained about)
