Back Up Solution needed for Optiplex Win XP with failing HD (WHD20 error)

From looking at site,& google, I think that I need to use Dell Backup and Recovery Manager (DBRM) 1.3. to back up my 2002, optiplex 260  with failing HD -Failed (Error code: WHD20-84P)

I want to back up whole system for first time.- ive got most files backed up seperately- but  id like to make a disc image of whole system if possible to restore onto a new hd when I swap out the old HD that is in the process of failing ( the HD stil runs at the moment). for a new HD.

I was going to back up onto external HD.

I cant find (DBRM) 1.3 application program anywhere on the dell site  only links to download sites.

Any idea where I get a clean copy of DBRM1.3?

thanks in advance for any advice

Dell Backup and Recovery (DBAR).

Are you going to be able to install DBAR if the hard drive has already failed?

You may want to install the new HDD from scratch, and then install the old one as a secondary to recover your files. You will have to reinstall all your software after Windows is installed on the new drive.

1. DBAR does not work for 2002 XP.

2.  Control F11 symantec recovery does not work on physically bad drives.

You will need a new IDE drive and the Dell XP install cd as well as the resource cd for your GX260.
