Can Dimension 4300 hold up to 1G SDRAM memory?

I have a Dimension 4300 system using 1.6GHz P4 CPU. The description in dell's website (http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dzuul/specs.htm#memory) said that this system can hold 512MB maxium. Now I'm using 521MB, it'fine. But what if I want to upgrade it to 768MB or 1GB? Can I do it? Or do I need upgrade BIOS for it, Now I running A02 version, I think. I want to edit some home vedio, so I want to add more memory, does this help? By the way, does this system support widescreen LCD monitor like Dell 2005FPW 20.1 inch? Appreciate any suggestion and answers.

It will in fact work with 2X512M PC133 DIMMs, or a total of 1G.

My mistake, you are right it will hold 1 gig of memory with two 512's.   I wasn't paying attention when I posted that.

Re: Can Dimension 4300 hold up to 1G SDRAM memory?

Thanks, again. But still a little confusin. Does you mean the system won't work if I put one 256MB and one 512MB, or one 128Mb and one 512MB? Should the two memorys I put be exactly the same?

They don't require pairs, matched or otherwise, nor is there any advantage to a matched pair.
Dell originally had a memory limit of 512MB because systems were shipped with Windows ME which had a 512MB limit. If you are running XP then 1GB is fine.
