Can I Install a Custom PSU ?

I have a Dell Precision T3500 and would really like to Install a new graphics card but the system requirement dont match that with the system.. and it is that the graphics card needs a 450W PSU with a 6 pin connector and the T3400 has a 375W PSU with no 6 pin connector... so my question here is if i can get a custom PSU and can fit it in the place of the manufacturers PSU ?

Hi shariar,

Unfortunately there is no custom PSU available. However, you may search for a 450W PSU locally that has 6pin connector.

If you have any other questions do reply to the same thread.

By telling there is no custom PSU , what did u mean  ? ... there is no other PSU that will fit within the PC or wont work with the motherboard ?

Standard EPS12v Certified power supplies work fine.

Hi shariar,

You may use any of the PSUs mentioned by SpeedStep . However, in my previous response I meant you will have to use a higher PSU for T3500.

Hi Ive got a dead Dell Precision T3500 525W Power Supply - M821J D525AF-00.

Could I use something like Corsair Power Supply 650W New TX650 80 Plus or Corsair Power Supply 600W CX600 80 Plus Bronze to replace it?

Hi pmb2013,

Yes, you may use either the 650W Power supply or the 600W power supply with the Dell Precision T3500 system as both are compatible.

If you have any other questions do reply to the same thread.

Hi thanks for your reply Kiran!

Its a 525 Watt Power Supply D525AF-00 M821J in the T3500 that i suspect died and I saw in another thread something about eps12v standard in severbased workstations, is this an issue here or are all newer powerunits compatible?

Hi pmb2013,

As suggested by Speed Step in the earlier responses you may go ahead with the EPS12V CORSAIR PSU suggested by him.

Hi. I know this thread is old and don't want to bother you. This my first time using this site and I could find anything online. Also I don't know how to create new post

For the dell precision t3500 workstation i want to know if my Thermaltake smart 750w psu. Model: SP-750P and W/Active PFC can work in the precision t3500. The Thermaltake as a +5v 22A, +3.3v 22A, +12v 62A, -12v 0.3A and a +5VSB 2.5A

I found another pose about case upgrade. The guy say he move the post and another post say they can move the post if it in the wrong section. I'm new so I don't know how to move or create new post and where it should go
