Can I move a 745 motherboard from a tower to a desktop?

I have a standard tower style Dell 745.  Will that motherboard, and other components, fit inside a Dell 745 case that's the desktop (lay down) style?  The cases are both 745s but I just don't know if anything changes based on the style of case.

Can it fit in the regular desktop case?  How about the low profile case or the really tiny one? (There are 3 shown here: http://www.dell.com/us/dfb/p/optiplex-745/pd)

Anyway, I want to use it as my "Media PC" which is more suited to having a flat PC than a tall one.

Thanks.

kelemvor33,

That is hard to say. We actually have four chassis types for the Optiplex 745 (Ultra Small Form Factor, Small Form Factor, Desktop, Tower) and each of those has its own motherboard. I think you will just have to test it and let us know.

I'm just talking about from the tower to the big size desktop.  I don't have one to test but from the manual, it looks like the hole layout is the same.  Figured someone at Dell would have more info than I would...
