Look at the diagnostic lights on the back of the computer tower.  Do they give you a clue as to what the problem is?

That could mean anything from a failed hard drive to a failed PCI device.  You could start by running the 90-90 hard disk diagnostics.   Restart your computer and press the Cntrl - Alt - and D keys (yes it is the D key, not the Delete key) simultaneously to run the test.  Report back what you find.

I tried to run the diagnostic program and got nothing. So I unplugged all my drives except the hard drive and it booted up upon further examination it was my DVD/CD drive that didn't work I left it unplugged and everything works fine. I did not know a faulty CD drive would not let you boot up.
Thank you for all your help much appreciated.

Dabruins, just for future reference, a bad IDE drive can cause problems for the rest of the IDE drives in the system.  The bad drive can be either a hard drive or optical drive.
