Can't find info for the MOBO and other hardware on a Dimension 3100
I have an old Dimension 3100 that I'm trying to set up for my kids to be on the inet. But I can't find any information about the mobo used in this system on the Dell site. And the 40 pin cable to connect the power and other things on front panel is messed up so I need to get a replacement but can't find any info on that on the Dell site. Does Dell not want us to know? Anyway, any info on the mobo and how I can get a replacement 40 pin I/0? cable for the power would be awesome thanx.

The ribbon cable is available here.
Used mainboards are available on eBay.

Thank you. Those cables are pretty expensive for cables. lol oh well. I'm wondering why dell didn't list it in the parts for this particular system.

It's proprietary, so one must expect to pay more than for a generic part like an EIDE ribbon cable. The same will hold true for the motherboard: feature for feature, it will cost more than a generic one.
It's likely you could order the cable from Dell via their 1-800 order line, but you'd probably pay more than this third party seller's price.
