Correct power for my Alienware x51 R2

Jump to solution

I recently purchased an Alienware x51 R2 with the GTX 750 Ti GPU. It's come boxed with the 240W AC adapter. Considering the CPU is rated to 85 w and the GPU is 150w should I have received the 330W AC Adapter? 240 W seems a bit low. I've tried contacting customer support twice but so far have had no luck. Is there somewhere I can check which AC adapter should come with each model?

I've got the I7 x51 with 16gb ram, solid state & normal HDD and the GTX 750Ti

Any help would be appreciated.

GTX 750 TI does not use an aux power connection so its a 75W GPU.

The 330W adapter would be prudent but I have no idea.

You should PM ChrisM to see.

I just ordered the same exact model as yours. And I'm quite worried also. How's your experience so far with the 240W Adapter? Is it working fine or is there any issue with it?
