Dell Data Safe
I had this on my Dell desk top, the hard drive died. I bought a new Dell, Alienware. How do I retrieve my information from Data Safe. Have tried everyway I know.

Data Safe does not work on windows 8. If you copied personal files (photos, music, docs, etc) in addition to backing up your files, you can copy those back to your new computer.

You should always have separate copies of your own personal files on disks and external drives. Lots of copies to be safe. Buy an external hard drive for the new computer.
Try going to this site and signing in-- https://www.delldatasafe.com/ If your account is up to date you should be able to retrieve files without installing datasafe. If your acct is out of date, your files have been deleted and are gone.
