AFAIK there are no dual core CPUs available for that board.

Single Core only, anything Dual-Core is not supported by the B110/1100.

Any Socket 478 Northwood, will work in the B110/1100.

The maximum is a 3.06GHz.

The B110/1100 also, supports Hyper-Threading technology, P-4 processors.

The maximum Socket 478 Celeron-D supported is the 3.2 GHz.

Because you can Get an Optiplex GX620 with Pentium D or an Optiplex 745 with core 2 duo for $100 and up its not worth upgrading such and old machine.

And would you say the 3.06GHz processor with 533MHz bus is better to have or worse than the 3GHz with 800MHz bus? I know it's most likely unnoticeable to a human but from a technical standpoint which would you say? I'm assuming 3GHz with 800MHz bus. I got this computer for free, upgraded the RAM for $10 from CL, upgraded the hard drive for $9 from CL, upgraded the video card for free from CL, and now found a guy on CL with every one of these CPUs willing to give one away for a pizza (oh CL how interesting you are...) but I'm not sure which to pick. Anyways thanks in advance to you and anyone else that replies.

I doubt that you would see any difference in performance.

Check that the latest BIOS version A01 is installed, prior to installing processor.

So if I got a CPU with an 800MHz FSB I'd need to upgrade to faster RAM capable of 400MHz? If they even have that for DDR, not sure. I'd rather not re-upgrade my RAM, I was aiming for maxing out the capacity and not paying attention to speed so I just checked and apparently the RAM I got is PC2700 instead of PC3200.

The motherboard will support both 533MHz FSB and 800MHz processors.

The difference is with a Prescott 800MHz CPU the DDR RAM will run at 400MHz and with 533MHz CPU, the DDR RAM will run at 333MHz.

No, the memory will just run at the slower speed.

My preference would be for a Northwood, because it runs cooler than the Prescott.
