Dell Gx270 Help

Hello all,

I recently just bought a Dell Gx270 from ebay at 50 bucks, considering that's all I can afford at the age of 15...

My questions is: Can I put windows vista or 7 on the machine? It has Windows XP right now. I can careless about the support ending problem, it's just that I get along better with newer versions of windows.

Statistics:

1 GB RAM

40 GB Hard Drive

Pentium 4 processor

--I tried putting Vista on it before, but the screen was half white, so I canceled it. XP came back on.  Is there any way I can get a new graphics card or something to support it? I heard in desktops that you can do that.

Please don't say "THAT'S OLD MAN GET A NEW ONE!!!"

Like I said, I am content with it's age; I would simply want a better operating system.

Thanks.

No you will have to make do with XP.

If it has a dedicated graphics card it will work, otherwise the onboard Intel 82865G doesn't have a Windows Vista or later compatible driver and you will likely have issues installing Windows 7.
