Dell Inspiron 530 will not turn on

Guys, I have a serious problem. I don't know what to do, I've tried absolutely everything I can possibly think of.

My dad's computer, a Dell Inspiron 530, will not turn on. Every time I go to the computer to try to turn it on, the computer will not boot up. The power light is a solid amber, which, according to the owner's manual designates either a power problem or an internal device malfunction.

I've checked all of the connections on the computer--from the power cord to the power strip, to the power connector on the system board and the main power cable and front panel cable to the system board. All of them are securely connected.

The machine, unfortunately, is no longer under warranty and I don't want to call the support line for expired warranty because I don't want to pay any money for what could be an otherwise really simply issue.

Could ANYBODY please help me out? It would be very greatly appreciated.

Drakengarde

I'll assume that you have the Mini Tower version of the Inspiron 530.

Are there any 'Beeps'?

The Inspiron 530 Troubleshooter and Diagnostic Codes are HERE.
