Dell Inspiron 530

I re-installed Windows Vista Home Basic on a friends Inspiron 530.

I checked Performance Monitor and noticed that the CPU section seems to be running at 100% continually.

Also, since installing Service Pack 2, Windows Update doesn't work anymore.

Any ideas what the problem might be? I thought maybe the CPU needs replaced.

Also, an unrelated question. I have a profile on here already but it's been a few years since I signed in. How can I access that profile. I'd prefer not to have multiple profiles and the e-mail associated with that profile is deleted.

Thank you for any help.

RE: Dell Inspiron 530

Sounds like its an issue with the Vista install regarding both updates not working and the CPU being continuously at 100 %.

Be quick and follow the Windows  10130 Insider Preview Upgrade path before th 29th to make this system a Windows 10 Pro Device:

I've had several reports that the Inspiron 530 works well on Windows 10 TH2 64 Bit after carrying out the 10130 Upgrade path.
