Dell Optiplex 7010 with BIOS A12 - UEFI Boot Option Issue

I tried to control the boot sequence for UEFI to allow only booting from the hard
disk by setting the following.

In BIOS, General -> Boot Sequence, I unchecked all devices in Legacy list.

Next, I set the Boot List Option to UEFI and select only Windows Boot Manager.

With an Admin password set, if I boot and press F12, the Onboard NIC and
CD/DVD (when Windows 7 DVD mounted) get display as an option to boot (no admin
password needed to select the option).

Next, I connect a USB Hard Disk, boot and press F12, the UEFI: Ext Hard
Disk option is added as an option to boot (no admin password needed to select
the option).

So, how do I disable booting from any possible UEFI device?

or, at least, require Admin Password?

Hi kwl-123,

Welcome to the community.

You can set the USB controller to no boot which would disable booting from any USB devices attached to the system. Please check the steps below:

Steps for making No Boot in BIOS:

Keep tapping F2 key on the keyboard while starting the system at Dell logo.

It will take us to a different screen called BIOS. On this screen only keyboard will function so you need to use arrow keys to scroll through the options and enter key to select the highlighted option.

Press the right arrow key to go to the Advanced menu.

Highlight USB controller and hit enter.

Select the same to No boot and it would disable the system from booting from the USB storage devices.

Please perform these steps and let us know the results of the same so we can advise you further.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Sandeep P

I have done what you have suggested, by disabling the  booting from USB Storage devices and UEFI: Ext Hard
Disk option did not get display under UEFI when USB Hard Disk is connected.

But I how do I remove the option for Onboard NIC And DVD (UEFI: TSSTcorpDVD-ROM SH-116AB) from the UEFI.
UEFI: TSSTcorpDVD-ROM SH-116AB only  get listed in the option (no admin password needed to select the option),
when Windows 7/8 DVD is mounted.
