Dell Optiplex 740 CPU upgrade (HP280--01) to Athlon 64x2 2.6GHz (45W to 65W)

I've bought a CPU on the basis that it's compatible with the old dell optiplex SFF that I have and it works but only for several minutes. I think the strongest chance is that it's because of the need for a more powerful fan to keep the CPU temperature within recommended limits.

I've looked at some cheap options but I don't know if I need to connect to another power supply lead or anything else in order to get a fan to cool. The cheap options for doing this are on ebay for about £4 including heatsink (see: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7CM-Fan-CPU-Cooler-Heatsink-for-AMD-Socket-65W-Phenom-Athlon-Sempron-/2318...)

Can anyone comment and tell me if I can use this type of cheap athlon recommended fan and heatsink in the 740 without any problems?

Thanks,
