Carolinagirl1990,

The self test feature is on the monitor connected to the computer. What is the monitor model number?

WH319 Black 19 LCD Flat Panel Monitor E197fp is not a Computer model.

These display a self test menu when there is no input signal.

SpeedStep is pointing out that there is no signal from the computer. Verify your monitor is plugged into the correct video card input on the computer. If you have the monitor plugged into the computer video card then, you are not getting any input from the video card itself. This is why the monitor has the self-test image on the screen. No Signal from the Video Card.

Okay I have unplugged and re plugged the cord and moved the computer to a different outlet it is still showing the self check feature. Is my cord or cable bad?

You don't remove it.  This is what the monitor does when there is NO SIGNAL from the computer aka its dead or the cable is disconnected.

With no computer anywhere if you plug the monitor in you will get that self test screen from the monitor.

Your computer is DEAD.

Aarons rent to own store is not Dell.

Neither of those numbers are Dell part numbers.

Doesnt sound like you own a Dell computer.

I know Aarons is a rent to own store that's how I purchased my Dell computer. I have some photos of my Dell desktop if you would like to see them???? My computer has power to it I just have that self check feature on my monitor. I have my Product key, Service Tag Number, My Express Tag Number, & My Mfg Date which was 03/16/2007. My Dell is Windows Vista Basic!!!! The numbers that I gave you are all the numbers that are on my monitor. Maybe you don't know what you are talking about.

Carolinagirl1990,

Replace the video card in the computer. It is not working if your monitor is connected to it. You can click the link below to download the online manual. It will provide you with information oh removing/replacing parts within your computer.
