dell did nothing and i demanded a refund for the computer and bought a mac and i absolutely have had no issues with my mac in over a year :).. you should do the same!
I had the same problem(s). All indicators said the PSU was to blame. Replaced the PSU; no joy. Tried the CMOS battery removal; viola! Problem solved. Of course the system spent an hour doing a restore to a previous good state, but hey - at least it seems to be running again. BTW, I recently installed Windows 8 on this machine for test purposes. Biggest problem was with the OEM PCI video card. I still don't think Windows 8 is ready for prime time, but it will run on this machine. Good luck!
