Dell XPS 435 MT graphics card replacement suggestions

My Dell XPS 435 MT has a failing graphics card. It currently has an ATI Radeon HD 4600 card. Can anyone suggest a replacement for it that can be simply swapped in. It does not have to be a big upgrade, just a replacement for a card that is apparently no longer available. Thanks!

By the way, it has a Thermaltake 430W power supply if that helps.

Problem solved. Got a response on a different forum and already replaced the card. Thanks!

My ATI Radeon HR 4850  has just started to fail - what was the replacement card that you got if I may ask?

Thanks

Replaced it with an ATI Radeon HD 5450. Works fine.

OEM. HD4850 is 6 years old. What are the symptoms? What's it doing?.. .  or let me ask, what's it not doing? Is it black screening, blue screen with long code numbers, the monitor flakes into little mosaic squares of color (artifacting), flickering that is slowly getting worse. You may just need to update the video drivers but first, what's it doing?

What do you plan to use the computer for? Work, games, videos, doing graphic work? Nividia GeForce 630. It has 810 core clock for a few games plus, it comes with 4 gb of DDR3. Minimum power requirement is 350 watts. It's right at the edge for your psu (power supply).

I have an HD7850 3gb in mine but I wouldn't recommend getting anything bigger. You need a larger psu 500+watts and they just don't fit. The i/o's on the bottom of the motherboard get in the way. I had to remove the fan shroud to get the HD7850 to seat perfect in the slot. You can't do that if the fan is attached to the shroud.

the monitor starts up with little green dots all across it; once Windows loads then the driver lasts for 3-5 minutes and then suddenly half of the screen turns to static (realy black and white tv stuff) and i have to hard-power down to get out.

If i turn off ATI driver then everything functions fine so that leads me to believe this is a driver issue. I've also seen the same behaviour when i used a different monitor.

I do use this computer for games (DiabloIII style). I'll look at updating the drivers but i've tried that without success.  I'll take a look at this GeForce 630 as well.

Thanks for responding.

Well, I think you're right. Updating is always a good idea. Even new drivers sometimes fail. Sometimes drivers for AMD or Nvidia don't work and you'll have to either get a beta or roll back a driver. Sometimes using a driver program from a different Radeon HD4950 (like MSI  Afterburner) works better than the AMD driver. In my game computer, I use MSI Afterburner (for an EVGA GeForce gtx 970sc). It's a better program. Hope this helps.
