Dell XPS 8700

Ok, I have decided to change my mind on buying the GTX TITAN for the Dell XPS 8700 which I haven't bought yet either. Can you guys let me know if the EVGA GTX 780 will fit in the XPS? Again, I know I'm going to have to upgrade the psu, which I will do. I'm hoping I can get a for certain that the 780 will fit in the 8700.

Hello B7tech,

XPS 8700 was tested and shipped with the following graphics options:

  • Integrated (UMA) — Intel HD Graphics 4600
  • Discrete — nVidia GeForce GTX 660, 1.5GB GDDR5
  • Discrete — nVidia GeForce GTX 645, 1GB GDDR5
  • Discrete — Nvidia GeForce GTX 650Ti, 2GB GDDR5
  • Discrete — AMD Radeon HD 7570, 1GB GDDR5
  • Discrete — AMD Radeon HD 8870 2GB GDDR5

Theoretically speaking, the EVGA GTX 780 should fit in the system. However, Dell has not tested the PC with this card.

Hope this helps!

Ok, it can fit, good. But what can happen as a result of you guys not testing it with the Dell? It won't work?

Hello B7tech,

Before purchasing the EVGA GTX 780, I would suggest you to take the computer to a local store and check if the graphics card work on the system.

In that case, I would suggest you to keep checking the forum. May be some other user in the forum can give you some useful tips on using this card.
