Dell XPS Fan/Heat Sync Question
Good morning. I'm having a lot of noise coming from my Dell XPS 8300. I've been able to reduce it a bit by blowing the dust out of my tower, but I'm still getting noise. From the research I've done on here it sounds like the fans and heat syncs need to be changed out for better ones.
I'm pretty novice when it comes to making these types of changes. Can someone tell me what type/size of fans and heat syncs I'll need to purchase to replace these all out? Are they all standard sizes?
Thank you,
Tyler

Hi Tyler,
There are a few different fans, so you need to double check before you start replacing them. The best way to do this is with the side of the case removed. Frequently, the video card will actually be the one causing noise.
Heat sinks do not have any moving parts, so I would not recommend replacing these parts.

Terrific! Thank you Osprey. Much appreciated. I'll give that a shot and report back. If it solves the problem, I'll make sure to note that you answered my question.
Thanks again!
