Is it true that the Dell Xps 630 motherboard is restricted to olny 8x on the PCIe slots?

For the most part, i think so.  I don't trust the auto cooling thing, so I load my own profiles to speed up the fans, since they never seem to do it on their own.

My mainboard info shows the same as Chris'.  It's odd that the nForce 750i SLI is different but the Model and LPCIO information is the same.

I dont no about this. Because the 750 chipset is not even ESA-certified either so we are going to have the same problems. Something is wrong with this picture.

Has Dell secretly slipped in the 750i chipset to new XPS 630s now?

Obviously, rather than return my system, I would like to exchange my motherboard for the new 630i motherboard update.  The Nvidia 750i SLI.  I can't even tell you how happy that would make me.

What are we going to gain from a 750i board. The only thing is 16x.....but nothign else is going to work at all. The board is not ESA so no fans, lights, nothing. You need to have a 680, 780 or a 790.

My lights and fans worked fine with my original Dell 650i based motherboard.  Some people had problems, but not the majority.

Durrthock the service tag is right on the front of your XPS system where the XPS logo is there should be a sticker on there and it says Service Tag:********* if not there it should be on the back of the PC maybe or just go into your account on dell where you got the PC and it will be in there somewhere.
