So basically, today I went into pc world and got a GeForce 210. So I took it home, got it fitted in my Dell Inspiron 530s and installed the drivers. After I restarted the computer, there was just a blank screen. And then I found out that it's because the graphics card needs more power than the PSU in my computer has. On the side of the box of the graphics card it says this:
This graphics card requires:
-300 watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 18 amps on the +12 volt rail
-PCI Exoress or PCI Express 2.0 compliant motherboard with one x16 graphics slot.
And these are the specs for the Dell PSU:
Delta electronics inc.
Combined total output not exceed 120w
Now to the point..
Can anybody tell me a psu that will fit in my Dell Inspiron 530s that will be powerful enough for the graphics card?
Thanks in advance
PS And I have Windows Vista 32 bit if that helps
There are TFX Inspiron 530s compatible power supplies [250w to 400w] available:
OK, I'll have a look at my BIOS, see if it's updated to the latest version, if it is though do you think the problem is that I need a more power supply like the other guy said?
Well idk, because I tried the BIOS update, and I already had the latest version, and you're saying that the power supply is adequate so why am I getting a black screen on bootup with the Nvidia drivers installed?
