Dell optiplex GX620 desk top pc
I was wondering if I put a 256mb1Rx16Pc2 4200CL2 with my 2gb Rx8 6400 pc2cl2 ram,what would happen .Would it be a bad idea and if so, why?

Mixing ram of different wait states and speeds usually does not work.

Assuming that it is the right type of memory adding 256MB is rather pointless.
