Dimension C521 Graphic Card Upgrade

Hi, I have a Dimension C521 currently using an ATI X1300 256 MB PCIe graphics card, taking into consideration that this is a low profile card, could anyone recommend a reasonable upgrade. My system runs a AMD Athlon64 4400+ cpu, 4GB of PC5300 ram, 320 GB HDD, and a standard 280W PSU.

Re: Dimension C521 Graphic Card Upgrade

You can look at the low profile HD 4350, HD 4550, HD 4650, HD 5450, HD 5550 & HD 5570 with the latter being the best of the bunch.  Any of these would be better than what you have though.

  • Dell Dimension 4600, P4 2.66 GHZ, 320GB SATA HD, Nvidia 6200, Vista Home Premium 32-bit
  • Dell Optiplex GX280, P4 3.2 GHZ, 80GB SATA HD, Windows XP 32-bit
  • Dell Inspiron 530, Q6600 Quad, 500GB HD, Vista Home Premium 32-bit
  • Custom Build, Q6600 Quad, (2) 500GB SATA HDs, 4GB Ram, EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 SC, Corsair 650TX PSU, DVD RW, DVD Blu-ray, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Re: Dimension C521 Graphic Card Upgrade

i am running an emachine cheapie pc with almost the same set up hardware wise with an ATI HD 5570 ... good card 🙂

stay away from any card with only a 64bit memory interface like the ati 4350 ... they are real slow in even moderate game play

i used to have the C521 and when i used it for my HTPC i had an old Nvidia 9400 in it to play WOW ... the modern day Nvidia version would be the GT 430 which would also work.
