Download a disk program to my Dell

I'd like to download an Adobe Photoshop disk to my Dell XPS 8500 (Windows 8) and I cannot figure out how to do it after putting the disk in the driver.  Can some body help?  Thanks.

Hi pine lake,

Please check if the program is installed on the system or not. Follow the below mentioned steps to check it:

  • Press the key combination of Windows Logo key + C key to open charms bar.
  • Type Adobe Photoshop in the search box and click on Apps below.
  • There will be an icon appearing for Adobe Photoshop.
  • Double click on it and check if you are able to use the application.

Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any questions.

Hi pine lake,

Please follow the below mentioned steps to install the application from the disk.

  • Insert the disk in the DVD Drive.
  • Click on the 'Desktop' icon on the home screen to get to the desktop mode.
  • Click on the 'Folder' icon in the system tray.
  • Click on 'Computers' on the left hand side to display optical drive.
  • Right click on it and click auto run to run the program.

Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any questions.

Thanks for your input.  However, when I right clicked on "BD-ROM Drive (H:)" this is the list I saw:

Collapse

Shared Folder Synchronization

Install or run program from your media

Open AutoPlay…

Pin to start

Share with

Burn to disc

Format…

Eject

Copy

Properties

I didn't see "auto run" as described in your message.

I did click on "Install or run program from your media" and a small window popped up asking me "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?"

  Program name:       Adobe autoplay 6.0

        Verified publisher: Adobe Systems Incorporated

   File origin:                CD/DVD drive

My question is should I click "Yes" to download and subsequently allowing the program to make change to my computer?

Looking forward to seeing your helping message again soon.  Thanks.

Hi pine lake,

'Open AutoPlay' and 'Auto Run' are the same options. Yes, you would need to click on option 'Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer'. Here the system is asking for your permission to install the application.

Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any questions.

Thanks for your help.  I believe I've downloaded the program successfully.  However, after logged in (I was asked to do so.) another window popped up to ask me fill in an URL.  I had tried several versions (following the guideline) and each time I got an "error" message; namely, I still cannot access to the program.  Any suggestion?

You're right.   I just ignored the "log in" went straight to the program and it worked perfect.  Thanks a lot.
