Ethernet controller drivers

Please help, i just got Dell iIntel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Cpu 2.6ghz processor  with windows xp prof. version 2002 service pack 2 just reinstalled  and tried to get connected to internet but it gives problems (? Symbol)from ethernet controller and with a long serial nr;

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1039&SUBSYS_01421028&REV_81\4&3B1CAF2B&0&40F0(I hope it says anything this nr.)

probably not the right drivers or being updated.

Anyone knows the right drivers or any advice, please let me know if i have to send more more info about my pc

First, edit your post and delete the Service Tag number as that is forbidden on the forum.  If a Dell moderator sees it the post will be deleted.

 

Second, we refer to PC model numbers, not what you have posed.  e.g. Inspiron 530, Dimension 5150, etc. 

 

Last, since you just installed Windows XP, did you install the "chipset drivers"?  It sounds like they were omitted and the chipset drivers define what is on or attached to the motherboard.

The PC model number will be on the front of the PC, such as Inspiron 530, XPS740, Vostro 200, etc.

 

I can refer you to the correct driver download, if Dell supports XP on that model, with the model number.  Or, click on "Support" at the top of this page and you can access the Downloads.
