Fixing the Blank Screen on Dell 2350

Has anyone managed to get the dell 2350 inspiron to anything but a blank screen ? Mine is only 18 months old - was a good machine up until this episode.... now nothing seems to work. Am thinking its a bios fault but there is nothing online about how to resolve this issue

Why do you think it is the BIOS fault?

Either the LCD assembly the "screen" has gone bad or the video card has gone bad.

To troubleshoot, connect via HDMI out to an external monitor.

Hi

I did connect to external monitor. Booted in safe mode and under device manager kept saying system profile with a caution mark next to it.

I did a diagnostics check the video card is fine as it displayed all the colour lines on the external monitor. I think it might be BIOS issue - as dell update has been popping up for weeks  - i have been avoiding it - but think by accident i did update bios - and thats when all my problems started. The display backlit comes on - but nothing else. Dell says it is the LCD panel and want 542.00 for the replacement part....

Am fed up to be honest - as product is not that old....
