G2410H monitor adjustment

I recently purchased a Dell G2410H monitor. I use it with my Dimension 4550 (VGA connection).  I've been fiddling with the settings trying to get the image right but have not had success.  Any advice?  Is there software that can help?

That monitor has a native resolution of 1920x1080.   Are you able to select that in display properties (Right Click desktop, Properties, Settings)?

If not, then a couple options:

1) Find an updated driver for your video card - to do that, need to know which video card it is.   Nvidia or ATI may have newer drivers to support the resolution - when the PC came out (2002/2003) wide-screen was rare, and that big a monitor even rarer.

2) Try installing the monitor driver.    It should have a CD with it.   Dell does have the drivers for download HERE,  but for some reason the XP driver is showing as a Vista driver - probably a glitch in the web site.

Thanks.  Resolution isn't a problem.  I've got the resolution set to 1920x1080.  My problem is color.  There seems to be a purple/bluish tinge - particularly on backgrounds that should be white.  I've tried adjusting color with the monitor controls as well as within Nvidia.  The purple/bluish tinge persists.  Ideas?

I'm not that knowledgable about monitors,  but a few links that seem to confirm what you're saying - the monitor just doesn't have great color quality.

It uses a "TN" flat panel - more info on types of panels here:
