GPU for Optiplex 320

Hi, need a GPU to run Farming Simulator 15 on my Optiplex 320 DT.

Have been looking at Geforce GTX 750 ti GPUs but not sure that it works with my computer.

Want to invest in a better GPU that I can reuse when I change my computer.

My setup is:

Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz
2GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate

The 320 has a Radeon X1100 motherboard.  Only Low profile Single Slot cards are going to fit in the case.

Only 8 inch long cards fit in the Tower Case.   You cannot use 75W cards in the Desktop or SFF models.

I am not aware of ANY 750TI models that don't use 2 slots.

ONLY Low profile cards fit into the Desktop Case.

ASUS Silent HD5450 will work in the DT.

750 TI is not low profile and USES TOO MUCH POWER.

SILENT RADEON 5450 Does work.

High but my 320 is a full size desktop so don't understand why I would need a low profile GPU?

The slot is only 1 card wide and cannot be more than 8 inches long.   Low profile cards come with both the tall and short brackets so they fit.

A Visiontek R7 250  900685  will work fine with the stock 305W power supply. 750TI cards will not PHYSICALLY Go into the slot because they occupy 2 not 1 Slot.  There are also electrical Issues with Geforce cards that may cause it to not work properly.   This is why people complain about running in X1 mode vs X16 mode and other Issues.

This 5770 isn't too long but its 2X wide and will NOT go in.

GT730 and R7 240 are horrible cards.  There are horrible versions of all the cards when they use GDDR3 vs GDDR5.

GTX 750 single slot is fine for a Tower HOWEVER any NVIDIA may not work at all due to the onboard Radeon X1100 chipset of the motherboard.

You will have to ask the simulation software company what they recommend.

The System Requirements for the game states:

Nvidia Geforce 8600 Series, ATI Radeon HD 2600 graphics card or better (min 512 MB VRAM)

I found a site called game debate and they have listed the 6450 as there required GPU for the game.

Since there might be an issue with NVIDIA with the Radeon chipset would you then recommend a 6450 instead?
But that only comes with DDR3...

Ok, not sure why the Dell detection software would indicate that it's a DT instead of an MT but anyways.

The Visiontek R7 250 isn't available in Sweden so I have been looking at alternatives.
I found the two following Single Slot R7 250 cards here:

Asus Radeon R7 250 GDDR5 HDMI 1GB
Sapphire Radeon R7 250 LP HDMI DP 1GB

How ever I'm thinking it might be worth it spending a bit extra if it will makes Farming Simulator 15 flow better so I have looked at 2GB Single Slot cards but I'm having a hard time determining what cards would work. Here is a list of cards I have looked at:

Asus GeForce GT 730 Silent DDR3 64-bit HDMI 2GB
Zotac GeForce GT 730 GDDR5 HDMI 2GB
XFX Radeon R7 240 LP DDR3 HDMI 2GB
Asus Radeon R7 240 LP DDR3 HDMI 2GB
Gainward GeForce GTX 750 (Single Slot) HDMI 2GB
Sapphire Radeon HD6450 DDR3 HDMI 2GB
EVGA GeForce GT 740 SC (Single Slot) DDR3 HDMI 2xDVI 2GB
XFX Radeon R7 240D LP HDMI 2GB

ASUS EAH6450 Silent/DI/1GD3(LP) Radeon HD 6450 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 works fine in all models except the USFF cuz that one has no slots.  Its a LOT slower than an HD7750 aka R7 250E  GDDR5

or ASUS EAH6670/DIS/1GD5 Radeon HD 6670 GDDR5 128-bit

The 6570 is the GDDR3 Version of the 6670 although there are vendors that put GDDR3 on 6670's as well.  64 bit cards are slower than 128 bit cards or 256 bit cards or 512 bit cards by Double Digits.

Regulatory Model (Mini-Tower): DCSM

Regulatory Model (Desktop): DCNE

Regulatory Model (Small Form Factor): DCCY

Regulatory Model (Ultra Small Form Factor): DCTR

5450 and 6450 are low end cards that only do 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 graphics on LOW Settings for Games.

Or a HD6670 2GB DDR3 128-bit?

Hi, what would be best a HD6540 2GB DDR3 64-bit or a HD6670 1GB GDDR5 128-bit GPU?
I am not sure if the 6670 can be run with the 300W power supply and the 25W limitation of the PCI-e.

I was looking at the R7 250 but they all seem to be PCI express 3.0 and the Dell only has a PCI express 1.0a so to my understanding it won't be compatible.

PCI-E 5450 6450 6570 6670 7750  R7 250E  All work fine in the 305W mini tower when they are SINGLE SLOT VERSIONS.  Double SLot wide versions WILL NOT PHYSICALLY GO IN.

There are no other issues.  The R7 250 E is a remarked 7750.  The R7 250X is a 7770 and requires a bigger power supply.
