GeForce-GTX-750-Ti into Inspiron-3847 ok ?

?Do I need to upgrade my Power Supply? I have an Inspiron-3847 ServiceTag- Service tag removed per privacy policy>ExpreesServiveCode - Express service code removed per privacy policy> ( i3-4130-cpu-@3.40Ghz with 8GB-ram ) and I want to add a graphics card GeForce GTX 750 Ti ( PNY VCGGTX750T2XPB-OC ) the specs for the graphics card says that I need a minimum of 400 Watt PSU, I think that is what the PC already has. ?Do I need to upgrade my Power Supply?

I upgraded my 3847 with a GTX 750ti by Evga and its fine. The power supply is 300watts. On the box tho it will say 400w is used for a intel I7 computer but intel i3 uses less power so you re good.

This is dangerous. I was asking the same recently, I thought I could put a GTX 650 into my 3847 but found out the power supply was lower. For more, check out my topic here.

NO you are using a 650 which requires more power. the 750ti is faster and uses maxwell so no powersupply is needed to upgrade my psu is 300w and has an intel i3 4150 and the 400w psu is only to those who have an intel i7 it's on the box

I have a new Dell i3847 and I bought a EVGA gtx750ti after reading that its compatible without a powers supply change.  To my surprise this video card needs a 6 pin power input. . What's the deal?

I have a question about this installation, when you installed the card did you have to disable integrated graphics in BIOS or did it automatically disable them.

No need, it does it for you but you can do it by going to device manager and video adapters then right click the intergrated graphics and disable them.

What about this UEFI safe boot ***? Didn't have to disable or any of that?

At the Amazon link are 3 types, the 750 Ti, 750 Ti SC and 750 Ti FTW. What the difference between them? EVGA's site shows clock speed, dimension and power consumption differences.

Is the overclocking needed?

Can it be run without connecting a cable to the 6 pin connector? The video on EVGA's site gives the impression you do not need to add the 6 pin connector, they make it sound like it is optional. Of the 4 705 Ti's, seems only 2 have that 6 pin connector anyhow.

Thanks.

Only the short ones work.  If they have 2 fans and aux power or are 9 to 12 inches long they are not for you.  Aux power comes from 650W or higher power supplies.  EVGA Super Nova B1 750 works fine.

EVGA Super nova 700B1 or 750B1 works fine.

B2 and G2 series do not.

The issue with working or not has to do with the 3.3v power supply on the X16 slots and 150W max combined power on the 3.3v and 5v rails.

THE EA-650 has versions that work and versions that do not

Again the issue is the 3.3v/5v  max power.

On this model the max is 160W

Thank you.

I have a Ti installed and running fine. Still learning the settings in the Precision XOC software and wondering why the 2 HDMI ports are different sizes, might try connecting a second monitor to see how that works.

Cards typically come with 1 hdmi and 2 display ports.  Display port isnt hdmi but can be converted to Hdmi.
