Is that with all models of the Dell XPS? Or the newer ones? I got my XPS 8700 on December 23rd of 2013 so should that be the same? I'll be opening my PC either today or sometime this week to clean it so if that is the only way to find out I'll do that.

Must be 460 then.......  Got mine in 2013.......   I've had no problems with it... Other than being a tight fit.

A little more input here. The XPS 8700 stock your PSU is 460W, GPU is nVidia GTX645 OEM. My first upgrade was to the GPU GTX 660 not much of a leap but I wanted to get  away from the OEM stigma.

Now I will be installing a Seasonic SS-660 XP and EVGA GTX760 superclocked.  Just see if you can get a backplate EVGA should include this but if you can find it the cost is $20. Running the GTX 660 is very good

you'll be happy for a short time but as all of use we must build bigger so long as the mony is there.

Oh I forgot I was in touch with EVGA they are discontinuing the 700 series but will continue to support it
