Hard Drive Caddy for Optiplex 7010?

Recently purchased an Optiplex 7010 to replace an older Dell for the office. I have a 1TB 3.5 drive that's only 1 year old that I want to install in the new machine as a second hard drive. I figured I needed an extra SATA cable, but I was not aware that I needed a blue hard drive caddy in order to install this. Dell does not appear to sell them separately.eBay has a number of them, but the listings advertise older Dell models. I want to make sure I purchase the correct caddy to expedite my hard drive transfer.

Please advise any particular listings on eBay or other sites that have the specific caddy that works with my machine. Thanks in advance!

Does it look like Blue Dell Hard Drive Caddy U6436 H7283 YJ221 ? Its probably the later version

UJ528 - Hard Drive Caddy Assembly, 2.0

If you take it out and take the drive out there is likely the EXACT DPN you need.

There are four different versions of the Optiplex 7010, which version do you have?

Mini Tower, Desktop, Small Form Factor and the Ultra Small Form Factor.

You need to order the hard drive bracket from Dell Spare Parts.

Speedstep: The first picture it looks like. I will need to turn the computer off to pull the drive out and confirm it looks like the second picture. Give me an hour or two as I am transferring documents to the new computer. It's a Mid-Tower desktop. I understand there might be different versions which is why I asked for assistance to lead me to the correct one.

Thanks.

Bev: I have a mini-tower (might have said mid tower in an earlier reply to Speedstep).

I do not see anything on Dell's website on ordering the hard drive caddy. I have also read on other forum posts suggesting to purchase the caddy on another website like eBay.

I just pulled the hard drive out and reviewed the blue caddy. Part number is 1B31D2600. Wasn't sure what to look for at first until I started searching the numbers on Google.

I have posted images of the caddy in my system on a Postimage.org gallery for future reference (if anyone else needs to look it up). Here is the link: http://postimage.org/gallery/b0m8jjvm/

For some reason the caddy in my computer did not have that sticker as shown in that picture. I had to read whatever was etched into the plastic on the reverse side.

ChrisM will have to answer. This is too new for me to know and I don't see a lot of parts for that series online.

Okay, let me ask for simple, clear answers:

Do I need a hard drive caddy to install a second 3.5" drive in my Dell Opriplex 360 "slim case" machine?

If so, what is the model or part number I need. Is it "YJ221"?

Please help!

After an hour on the phone with Dell because I to need the same thing. This is the info they gave me;

25CFV for Desktops

KK4N0 for Mini Towers - This replaces a previous part number as this caddy has vibration quieting.

Hope this helps
