Incorrect year
After harddrive reformat and win 98 re-install have found some of my windows files and some of the re-installed software have a year of 2028.as well as 1998.Not sure when this happened.
As usual appreciate any idea's to correct.

I am not sure about Win98 SE but if you re-installed Win98 it is not Y2K compatible. You need to get
the WIN98 Y2K patch. It might already be included in the Win98 SE, but not sure about that.

Win98 and Win98SE may be Y2K compatible (with many bugs!), but they are not fully Y2K compliant.
The win98 2000 update can be found here

- Both Win 98 and 98 SE are Y2K compatible. However
- go to Windows Update and download all critical
- files. Go to settings from start and then control
- panel. Select regional settings and enter the
- correct date. That should fix it.

I have Win98 and have downloaded all critical updates and set the date in regional settings allready.
I installed the Office 97 sr2 version from the CD I had ordered ,which is the standard version didn't use the one Dell sent with my machine as it would need SR1 patch first.
I'm wondering if i need to install the SR2b patch now
these are all very confusing when they don't leave the software alone.
Thanks to all the reply's
