Inspirion 531s need proper XP USB driver

Hi,

I needed to upgrade my Inspirion 531s from Vista to XP for some apps to work.  Unfortunately I don't have the proper driver for the USB ports as they will not work with USB2 devices.  I can't find USB drivers on Dell's site for the USB ports.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

thx,

Wes

I believe this is an nforce based motherboard, try Nvidia's chipset driver (do not install the audio components)
  Hope this helps

You said you upgraded from Vista to XP. Do you mean the system came with Vista and you dropped back to XP?

Did you install the chipset drivers here:

All the drivers for XP for the 531s are here:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WW1&osl=EN&catid=-1&impid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=INSP_DSKTP_D531S&hidos=WLH&hidlang=en&TabIndex=

You might try from control panel removing the USB ports and reboot to see if they are picked up properly again.
