Hi folks, need advice and help. Suddenly started to shut down with no apparent reason, other than the fan recently started taking off like a jet down a runway. The system was restored to factory settings and the issue still remains. I suspect its an over heat of cpu but how can I confirm that? and if it is what can I do?

A 'thermal Event' error message, is usually shown, when a component/processor is overheating inside the case.

Are there any error messages?

When did you last clean all the dust from inside the chassis, fans, heatsink and it's cooling fins, plus the air intakes located behind the front bezel?

Also check the graphics card and fan, if installed, for dust.

Bev.
