Inspiron 3650 Motherboard M.2

I was wondering if the M.2 slot can be used with an SSD.

Thanks.

No.  it's for wifi or wifi/bluetooth only.  It's not wired for use with a storage device.

Thanks for the prompt reply!  Do you know if it is a matter being wired for storage or having the drivers built for it?

The wiring.  The drivers belong to the drive used (SATA, PCIe or NVMe), not to the connector.

M.2 sockets can be connected to the system bus in a host of ways - the mainboard design determines these.  This is a low-bandwidth connection for a wireless card - it's not connected in such a way that an M.2 SSD is supported (and neither is the BIOS written in such a way as to support an M.2 drive).
