Inspiron 530 desktop upgrade question

I am looking to upgrade new graphics card and psu and i am wondering if a Corsair VX550W Power Supply 550W and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465 would work in my system

Yes, this combination should work in Inspiron 530.

Before buying the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465 video card, open the case and check that there's enough free space available for the card. :emotion-5:

will the graphics card fit? im afraid that it is too big

Cannot say, but it is possible, the 530 chassis has limited space for video cards, most Nvidia Geforce GTX  PCIe x 16 video cards are 9.5" long, also is there an additional hard drive installed?
 
You need to check the free space that's available inside the case [use a plastic ruler for this]
 
To find the card's dimensions, go to the manufacturer's webpage, for the video card's specifications, or post a link to the card you intend to buy.
