Intel Core i3-2120 Vs. Core i5-2400

Hi Gang

Has anyone done some research about these processor chips that are in the Optiplex systems? All I can figure is that the newer one: the i5-2400 appears to be so-called 'energy efficient'? Which if true, doesn't impress me. My opinion is similar to the comparison of a so-called 'Green Drive' vs. a standard Caviar Black WD. I've read where there is no real advantage, in fact a disadvantage when performing intensive editing etc. I'd rather have FULL power. Anyway, I'm really not sure about all these processor chips.

Thanks for your thoughts

Mike

The i5-2400S is the slower, more energy-efficient one; it is not configurable from Dell in their systems.
