Intermittent high CPU utilization problem with my new Dimension 8400
Hello guys !
A few weeks ago, I got a new Dimension 8400 with P4 3,4Ghz, 3GB DDR2-RAM, 320 GB RAID-Hard Drive (2x160 GB). I am using the PC for Home Recording. Now I have an intermittent problem. Everytime I use Cubase SX, my recording software, to record my songs there is a very bad sound problem every 1~3 min which lasts 1 second. The reason for this appears to be the System process which uses the CPU up to 70%. Further diagnosis shows that even without the recording software running, the System process utilizes the CPU from time to time up to 40%. Only workaround I found was to set the priority of my recording software to realtime. But I would prefer another solution.
