Java Update has gone terribly wrong on My Dimension E520 Help!
Dear Fellow Forum Members,
At Christmas 2006 I got a Dimension E520. It was a Brilliant Computer and I use it to create my Clay Animations! On Thursday 3rd May My PC was ready for a Java Update. I have had already 2 Sucessful Updates. When I switched my PC on the Pop-Up Balloon appeared. (When one at the Right-Bottom hand side, They Usually Pop up if you do not have any Anti-Virus Software installed.) Anywho so I updated the Computer as you normally do. I didn't install the optional Google Toolbar that comes with all update (That I know of) Once the update was complete it told me to Verify my Update (To check that everything had gone smoothly) So I clicked the link and then my Computer crashed, and came up with the Blue Error Screen. Explaining that the recently downloaded software had gone wrong (I'll get more Scecific Information later) This has happened a few times to me (Once when I first got my Internet working after I tried the internet again everything was fine) So I thought it was only nothing so I'd restart the PC which I did! After I restarted it the on the Welcome Screen it was taking a while to load. I thought it was just the PC adjusting to the New Update then I heard the Windows Tune But it was still on the welcome Screen. Then it finally came of the Screen and I could see my Wallpaper but nothing else. (No Desktop Icons or Toolbar at the bottom just the Wallpaper. About Five Minutes later the Toolbar and the Desktop Icons finally loaded up. I nocticed a strange new called '1' and the Icon was just a Blank Computer Screen then the pop-ups became to flood in. they said winlog has encountered a Serious Error and Window has found a Serious Error. By this time I was Extremely worried. Then it all went black and the same Blue Error Screen popped up again. I restarted and again the PC took ages to load and then the same thing happened again. I then left it off for a while and then tried again to turn it on, It did the same again but this time before it shut itself down and deleted the '1' Program (Sent it to the Recycle Bin and deleted it from there) Then I started it again it did the same execpt it now didn't shut itself down. I tried to delete the update but when i started to delete it the whole thing shut down again. I tried accessing the Internet but it didn't work! (The internet was fine though on my Dads PC) Then I told my dad to come and see if he could help. He somehow found a Program that said it would repair the Internet connection We followed the Instructions and then restarted the PC as it instructed. It then took a long time to load on the Welcome Screen but then when it finally loaded the whole desktop appeared (As in the Bar at the bottom and the Desktop Icons) When then thought we had finally solved it! As I opened Internet Explorer the 'This page could not be displayed' page came up. Then the 'Serious Error' Messages popped up and the blue Screen popped up again.
We're now totally unsure of what to do? My dad said he found a Program that allows to change back to a certain date and making all the settings made e.g: The Update Be automactically deleted But before we have a chance to search for it the Computer shuts down. We've checked the Java Site and this one for help but we've had no luck!
So please Help us!
Thanks
