Your just a little bit confused. unplugging the computer and pressing the power button does not reset the bios. Using the jumper pin you describe does reset the bios as does removing the coin cell battery, which is a more preferred method. The best way to reset the bios is to unplug the computer press and hold the power button for 10~15 seconds. This will drain the flea power on the mother board. Then remove the battery and again press and hold the power button. Wait about 2- 3 min and then reinsert the battery. plug in an power up.

Just a note to say thank you for this tip. I had the keyboard/mouse failure after trying to charge my gps. Your tip saved me from taking the pc in to a tech shop.
