Thanks for your post!

Have spent several hours fiddling without any joy so have decided to revert to DVI... to be honest I can't really notice any difference!

Thanks again,

Dave

Thank you veeeeery much.

I was ready to call Dell support after I connected two different laptops and had the same issue. Unfortunately both were using ATI graphics which needed these additional settings.

For sure you saved me lots of time I would spend on the phone with Dell/Acer.

You have the wrong driver.  Uninstall 10.8 and then use Driver Sweeper (a freeware you should download first ) in safe mode. Then select ati to remove all ati leftover files.  reboot and go back to amd.com and download 10.7 package listed under previous versions.  Mine reboots fine now.  AMD gave me this info and has admitted to the problem.  Dell can't answer this.  AMD is the way to go.  They got back to me quickly.  I'm assuming the 5770 and 5870 which I have will require the same driver.  emoticon.BigSmile.title

I've got an acer S273HL and was cracking my head open trying to figure out how to remove the black borders.  YOU ARE THE MAN!!!  Just like "Dim Sum43" above me...I created a Dell account just to say "Thanks!!".  🙂 🙂 🙂

Almost 2 years later and this post still applies. Reinstalled the OS after a HD crash and couldn't remember for the life of me how i configured this back in May/June 2010. Why can't they make it easier to find? Another mystery of life.

Thanks
