Monitor problem-power cable
A friend has been given a Dell 19"or 20"(didn't have a tape handy) monitor without the power cable.I know this sounds fishy but this guys a professional and his dad got the monitor from work. They just can't find the cord.Something else fishy is that the serial #and writing on the back are all in Chinese or some type of Asian script. It does say 2004fp on the back plastic and is a Dell 19.
Thing is it has a round 4-pin power connector.Anyone know the part number or anyplace I can buy this cord.I'd call Dell but would like to have a part # first. Thanks

I believe a standard video cable will work on that model. You'll need a male/male cable in either vga or dvi depending on your setup. I bought several from ebay from a guy called cablecity.
I do lcd repair as a hobby and very few come with the video cable so I've had to buy repalcements. I don't know why people keep them but they do. The same cable fits all the dell I've needed it for

Thanks for the reply but I need the power cable. This is not the standard 3pin female connector that fits almost all decktop cpus and monitors.I've never seen one like this. The monitor has a round 4pin female power connector requiring a 4pin round male cable.Hoping one of the guru's here had seen one before and could
help me out.Hate to see a nice flat screen go to waste.

I found several hits on a google search "R0423", but the "best price" was an overseas shipment which cost the same as the item! If your lucky you may find a continental shipment, but this "product is discontinued".

Since it was being used at the work premises, prior to you being given it... it's likely there's a power cord for it still there?
Or... unless every similar monitor - and each and every the power cable, have been junked... there should be at least one power cable lying around somewhere?
